Born and raised in Oregon, Rickey’s heart lies in the great Pacific Northwest. His family comes from Guam, so his roots proudly branch out to the Pacific Ocean; this has attributed towards his love for seafood, sun, BBQ’s and reggae music! Rickey’s love for optics started in 2013, he had always been fascinated by his sister’s tales of working in the field; this sparked his interest in the crossroads of healthcare and fashion. Within his first year of becoming an optician, Rickey was designated a Certified Optician by The American Board of Opticianry. He has continued to maintain up to date knowledge to provide the best service and care for his patients. Outside of work, Rickey enjoys exploring the outdoors; from hiking and camping, to fishing or grilling. Any excuse to be outside is a good one!
David Fuller was born and raised in Oregon. He has been an optician since 2006, before that working in information technologies. David lives with his wife and three kids in a 1920’s farmhouse that they are slowly bringing back to life.
David is very interested in the technical aspects of eye care. In addition to working in the lab cutting lenses for eyewear, he likes to help patients learn about their eyes and endeavors to make it a fun experience. In his free time he enjoys playing many musical instruments and recording in his own studio for himself and others.
Julie is a born and raised Oregonian who recently moved back to the area from Alaska. She started out working in the lab and lens-making division of the optical industry in 2005 and has since moved into opticianry. She is interested in the cosmetic fitting of spectacles and determining the proper lens style for our patients’ needs.
Julie likes the creativity of design that comes with eyewear and is always able to find a frame and lens style that suit patients’ personal needs. In her spare time she enjoys hiking with her dogs, extreme motor sports, reading, painting, making mosaic art, and cooking.
Kirsten has been employed in the eye care field since 1997 when she took a part-time job to get out of the house while raising her two daughters. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science degree in Business at Portland State University.
She grew up in the Pacific Northwest and never tires of exploring the state, whether it be the mountain ranges, coast or the high desert in central Oregon. Mostly she enjoys catching up with her daughters now that they are young adults. “They keep me young, and we have so much fun together just being ourselves and sharing laughs,” she says.
Maddy Royse was born and raised in the Portland metro area. She has a Bachelors degree in Biology. She enjoys science, research and helping people, so working in healthcare has been a perfect fit. As an insurance specialist, she researches patients’ benefits and makes sure that they are familiar with their coverage prior to received eye care. She finds that providing this service and being surrounded by fashionable eyewear are just a couple of the highlights of being a team member at The Eye Studio.
Maddy and her fiancé, Mike, have two children, a 5-year-old son, Calvin and 2-year-old daughter, Cadence, plus a pitbull named Leela. They love going on camping trips and spending time outdoors. She also enjoys reading, both on her own and with her kids. Dr. Seuss is a family favorite!
Born and raised in Oregon, Marina got her Bachelor of Science from SOU where she studied traditional print making. She got started in the eye care industry in 2013 as a technician in Wyoming. Learning about all things eye related has become a passion of hers.
She moved to Portland in 2015 with her partner of many years, Josh, her cat named Leo, and her corgi mix named Harvey. In her free time, she enjoys exploring the food & beverage scene and going to all of the dog parks.
