Our Team

As a Certified Optician by The American Board of Opticianry, Rickey has been at the crossroads of both healthcare and fashion since 2013. A PNW native with roots proudly branching out to the deepest waters of the Pacific; Rickey enjoys exploring the outdoors. From hiking and camping, to fishing or grilling, any excuse to be outside is a good one!

David has been working at The Eye Studio since 2009. He was born and raised in Oregon, in the Portland area for over 30 years. He manages the optical boutique, hand-picking the best frame styles from our brands from around the world. A jack-of-all-trades, David also serves as de facto handyman and IT person. He enjoys doing whatever he can to help out. In his free time, David produces indie rock records, designs stuff for people, and hangs out with his 3 amazing kids.

Andy was born on the island of Oahu and raised on Maui. He is a Portland State University alumnus and started his first optical job in the Portland area in 2016. He loves helping patients be confident and fashion-forward with their eyewear. In his free time, Andy enjoys spending quality time with his husband Brandon and their many animals. He also loves to dance, shop, make jewelry and hang out with friends and family.

Matt studied and received a bachelor's degree in Video and Film Production in Tennessee. After moving to Seattle from Tennessee in 2015, he began a career as an Optician. Matt moved to the Portland area in 2021 from Seattle.  He spends his free time traveling or spending time with his dog.  He also is full of movie and television trivia.

Maddy was born and raised in the Portland metro area. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. She enjoys science, research and helping people, so working in healthcare has been a perfect fit. As an insurance specialist, she researches patients’ benefits and makes sure that they are familiar with their coverage prior to received eye care. She started training as an Optician here at The Eye Studio in March of 2017 and loves nothing more than to find the perfect frame for a patient.

Maddy and her family love going on camping trips, swimming and spending time outdoors. She also enjoys reading, both on her own and with her two children. They just started the Harry Potter series!

Molly was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. She studied Writing and Directing at Colorado Film School, and has been working in eye care since 2013. She loves helping patients, and in particular loves working with kids in our myopia control program.

A big fan of the gloomy Pacific Northwest weather, Molly moved to Portland in 2015, where she lives with her two cats, Goose and Indy. Outside of the office, you can find her writing in coffee shops, wandering around Powell's with her partner, and looking for the perfect rooftop bar.

Elena was born in Florida and raised in Pakistan. She has lived on the west coast  for her majority of the time in the US. She studied Criminal Justice in college. In 2020, during one of her summer breaks, she decided to take a fun summer class meant for opticians and quickly realized her passion for optics and eyewear. Ever since then she has been interested in different aspects of eye care.  

In her free time, she likes to go on hikes and explore new places in oregon and Washington and try out new local food spots.  She has also recently started taking interest in gemology and is taking a few online courses this summer and hopes to be able to learn a new skill set and identify diferent gem stones.

Born and raised in The Pacific North West, Kira holds a passion for the great outdoors. Hiking, foraging, paddle boarding and going to the Coast are among her favorite things to do. Kira loves animals, yet is particularly fond of bunnies. She one day hopes to have a tea farm with tons of animals and delicious fruits and veggies! 

Kira's passion for opticianry began in a corporate setting, so she is eager to continue her education here at The Eye Studio.  She loves helping her patients with a true emphasis on education.
