Dr. Tina Tsai has been involved in the eye care profession since 1993. She received her Doctor of Optometry with honors from the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry in 1999. She enjoyed considerable success as the owner of Dr. Tina Tsai Optometry in San Leandro, California, before moving to Portland and opening The Eye Studio in May of 2005.

Since then, she has focused on orthokeratology (OrthoK), a non-surgical solution to correcting myopia (nearsightedness).

Dr. Tsai especially enjoys working with children of all age ranges to control their myopia with OrthoK. She is also passionate about dry eye management and has devoted her practice to combat this pervasive condition.

Dr. Tsai and her husband, Jay, have two sons, Ryan and Joshua. The family enjoys traveling and taking road trips in the Pacific Northwest. In her free time, Dr. Tsai enjoys singing, running, and making sourdough bread. She is an avid runner who runs several half marathons a year.

She is fluent in Mandarin, Chinese, and Taiwanese as well as English.

Originally from Makawao, Hawaii, Dr. Joebelle Bonete brings a natural sense of adventure to her work, loving the opportunity to meet a wide variety of people.

Her unique journey took her from Hawaii to Maine, where she earned her bachelor’s degree from Colby College in 2018, followed by two foundational years working as a medical scribe right here in Portland during her gap years. She then headed to the Midwest to earn her doctorate from the University of Missouri – St. Louis College of Optometry in 2024 (receiving the Optelec Excellence in Low Vision Award) before returning to the PNW to complete a specialized residency at the VA Portland Health Care System in 2025.

A diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, Dr. Bonete loves partnering with patients to manage complex eye conditions and protect their long-term sight.

Off-duty, you can find her exploring new hobbies and the beautiful PNW with her fiancé and their poodle, singing karaoke, or rooting for the Trail Blazers and the Seahawks.
